In 2012, I was charged with designing the Museum of Science and Industry’s annual holiday card. In keeping with MSI’s aim to inspire inventive genius, I created an elaborate Rube Goldberg Machine which eventually lit our iconic grand tree. The inciting incident, which set off a domino effect of holiday fun, was done by none other than the Museum’s newly created ambassador of holiday cheer: Julius the Elf (named after Julius Rosenwald, who founded the Museum). The card was later animated by the fabulous Mistah Lee.
